Birthday Week

It's Evangeline's birthday week. It started off in a great way this weekend with her first birthday card arriving all the way from England - from her Great Granny & Grampy (my grandparents). Here is a picture of her enjoying the card:


She keeps climbing up to the shelf it's on and pulling it off to look at it - she opens and closes it a lot. Here's another picture of her that shows what most pictures are like these days - she wants to hold the camera, not have her picture taken :o)

We're excited for her birthday coming up on Friday. Our big girl.

Final leetle update

Well, they are doing well.

Adrienne is such a cutie and is now sleeping, eating, and pooping well :o) Ruth & Alex are doing well but tired. They weren't able to get any rest last night. So, pray that they are able to get some rest.

The good news is that they have been cleared to go home tomorrow morning! They are looking forward to interruption free nights and being more comfortable at home.

There were a couple people having problems with the meals link, so if you are let me know and I can send another to you.

Thanks for your prayers the last day or so, we are all so glad to have Adrienne here at last!!

She's Here!!!

Adrienne is finally here!!!

7 lbs. 15 oz., 20 1/4 in. long.
She was born at 6:43pm.

Another Update

Sigh. She is not here yet.

A little while ago Ruth felt lots of pressure and we thought we were there, but it was her water breaking. She got a 2nd dose of epidural and last I heard they were going to check her in a few minutes, her doctor was on the way, and the room was set up for Adrienne to be born. I haven't heard from them for about 30 minutes, so hopefully that means she is pushing now.

Will update as soon as I hear anything :o)...

Almost there!

She is now 9 1/2 cm!! Adrienne will be with us soon!!

Latest Update

She is in active labor now, at about 2 1/2 cm., and just got an epidural.

Alex asks that we please pray that she gets some rest.

Update: Getting Starting

Well they got in last night and gave Ruth the cervidil. It did its job and she is fully effaced and 1cm dilated. They started her on the pitocin about 8:45ish but she was already getting a few contractions on her own before then. So now the waiting game begins!! :o)

Adrienne!!!

Sigh. As clearly evidenced by the complete silence on this blog, Adrienne hasn't come yet. She is now 10 days over due! So, Ruth & Alex will be heading into the hospital on Wednesday night and will get induced on Thursday morning. We know she will be coming this week(end)!! Yey!!

I will be updating the blog with information as needed/I get it on Thursday.

Ruth & Alex would love to see you after Adrienne is born, but please call them BEFORE you head over to make sure the timing will work out well.

Ruth has sent a couple prayer requests:

1. That the cervidil (which she will be given on Wednesday night) would trigger my body into natural labor so we can avoid as many interventions as possible.
2. For a fast and easy delivery
3. For a healthy baby (and that the induction wouldn't cause her any distress)
4. That ultimately we would hold all plans loosely and trust that the outcome will be our precious gift, no matter how she arrives.

Come on Adrienne, we cannot WAIT to FINALLY meet you!!!
