Book Review

God Loves Me More Than That by Dandi Daley Mackall

This book is cute, asking how much God loves us.... how high, wide, and deep is His love and the answers are things that children would be able to grasp. The questions and answers are on a page each with the beautiful pictures. The answers are all relateable for kids - kittens, cowboys, etc. and the illustrations are great. The pictures are colorful and bright, detailed and they jump off the page at you. Some of the questions, though, I didn't really care for (how soft and how loud is His love). I can see how the author was trying to make it kid-friendly but I think it's more confusing than not with those couple of questions. All in all though, it's a cute book with beautiful pictures that might help a young child understand a little better just how much God loves us.

4 months

Yesterday was Evangeline's 4 month appointment... I was so grateful that Ryan had the day off work as I remember how rough it was after her shots last time. But, she did amazing! We gave her a dose of baby tylenol before leaving for the appointment and after her shots we calmed her down and she fell asleep... for about 5 hours! When she woke up she was her very happy self (hungry, but happy) and was for the rest of the day and so far today as well. Thank you Lord!

We knew we had a chunker, but here is the proof:

Evangeline had a bedtime story tonight. It was C.S. Lewis' autobiography Surprised by Joy. Yeah, she's that cool.

Birthday

Last week was Ryan's birthday. I made him cinnamon rolls with orange juice (the oj is a treat in our house) for breakfast and we went over to his family's for dinner. Then on Saturday I surprised him with a progressive dinner of sorts where not only did the courses progress, but also the people that came. It ended at our place for dessert with some of our favorite people (and yum desserts). Thanks to everyone involved - he really enjoyed it. On Sunday we then celebrated with my family and had some more yum food and hanging out. All in all it was a good time and Evangeline did wonderful with it all.

Ryan, I hope you had a great birthday. I'm so grateful for the wonderful man that you are. Evangeline is so blessed to have you as her daddy and I am an incredibly blessed woman to have you for a husband. Thank you for your love and care over this past year... I look forward to seeing what this next year our your/our life has! I'm praying that God will grow you even more in this coming year and make you more aware of him. Happy Birthday, love!

Inspiration

This time of the year I get inspired to make things, decorate the apartment, etc. My creative juices flow, but rarely do I actually do any of it. But I still dream about doing it...
I often stop by The Crafters File Box and pretend like I'll actually do something from there. Ideas from all these places get the label "someday" and get archived in my email... but someday, "someday" will come!
This year I asked for a mini sewing machine for Christmas. So some of the projects will be realistic for next year, if I get the machine :o)
