Prayer Requests

So some people have been asking how they can be praying as the end of this pregnancy draws near... so here you go:

1. Breech. At this point the baby is breech. There is still time for them to turn but it would be great if that would happen sooner than later. I'm trying lots of different thing to try and get them to do their little somersault, but so far they are being quite stubborn. The midwives will be monitoring it at each of my appointments and will try to manually turn them, if it comes to that. And, if we're not able to get him/her to flip then it would mean c-section. That would not be our preference, so we're doing what we can and praying they will turn before the time comes.

2. Ryan's work. Ryan is pretty busy at work these days (this week is actually his busiest of the year). It's great that they are busy, but it means long days for him and long times of not seeing each other. We're doing fine, but it's always hard to be apart.

3. Final Details. We still have some final details to deal with, including going and buying the stroller/car seat and the pack n play that will be the bassinet. The Lord has been faithful in providing for us and we know he will continue to be, so we're not worried... but we still have to get those few things together and done.

4. Timing. We have hopes of when the baby will come for several reasons, but we're trusting God's timing. Ideally though, we'd love for him/her to come after our good friends get married (Ryan is the best man) and before our brother goes back to Michigan (for the school year). We know whenever the baby comes is the best time, but we're praying for the timing and would love for anyone to join us in praying for it.

5. Labor & Delivery. Simply that it would go well and baby would be healthy. We cannot wait to meet our little one.

Anniversary

So Ryan surprised me with a trip for our anniversary! I was not expecting this at all. We had an overnight in St. Michaels, a beautiful town on the bay. It was so relaxing and fun, the food was fabulous, and he really spoiled me. The hotel owned a dock and so there were many boats and yachts docked just outside and we could walk around and look at them and meet some of the people.

This picture was taken by a couple celebrating their 39th anniversary, she very sweetly offered to take our picture as we walked by and then we had a bit of a conversation with them. Everyone was very friendly, part of the boating life, apparently.

That evening Ryan had arranged for us to have dinner on a sailboat! It was delicious food and he surprised me with an anniversary cake for dessert too. It was beautiful being out in the bay in the sailboat and it was so quiet and peaceful, we really enjoyed it.

The next morning I was awake to catch the sunrise, we then had breakfast and set off to wonder around another part of town. We then went to the nearby town of Oxford which has a beautiful little park right on the water. After that we headed home, stopping by a farm stand to get some delicious nectarines on the way :o)
